Wycoller Adventures
April 24, 2012I’ve just had a lovely weekend entertaining visitors from afar. We saw a lot of Pre-Raphaelite art, ate a lot of cake, explored the ruins at Wycoller and got mugged by ducks! Good times indeed!
Wycoller is a particularly magical spot not far from home. A hidden valley with a beck running through the centre, crossed by ancient bridges and the ruins of an old manor house. There is a duck pond inhabited by fearless ducks, who on spotting a small child with a bag of bread immediately swoop upon you and steal said bread.
I took the opportunity to take a few snaps of one of my most recent knitting projects. It is the Robin Hood Hat by Grace Akhrem, and I have used the softest, most delicious alpaca yarn to knit it, with antler buttons. I am in love! It manages to look Robin of Sherwood and vintage flapper all at the same time, which obviously is a very good thing!
