The Ewing Workshop

May 9, 2012

I just want to take a moment to enthuse about the creations of a very talented friend, James Ewing. From arms and armour to film props and jewellery, James can create them all. He is best known for his mythic devices such as the Radhost Completor, shown here, which “shows its bearer the way to other world realms and planes of existence. Etched inside you will find many dead ends and oubliettes tempting you to stray from the paths that lead to Avalon, Atlantis, Asgard, Midgard, Helheim and tir Na Nog, home to the Fae folk and to the Cormon. But most important of all, you will find the path home”.

I was lucky enough recently to become the proud owner of one of James’ creations. I’ve long wanted a copper torc which looked as if it had been forged in the fires of an elfin forge somewhere deep in the woods. Well, James’ workshop is in a garage on the edge of Halifax, but that is close enough for me! I described what I wanted then left the rest of the work in his capable hands and look what a beauty James has made. I am delighted! Thank you James, and thank you to my lovely husband for commissioning it for me!

  1. James is genius

    • He certainly is! And it is all the more impressive after seeing the space he works in…
