FAQ

Is my hair suitable for Elflocks?
We recommend your hair is at least shoulder length. Ideally you need to be able to put your hair up into two buns high up on your head. Full instructions are provided with every set of Elflocks. Elflocks are very voluminous and cover hair easily, so you need not worry about colour matching. They are also very lightweight and once installed correctly will not pull on the hair or scalp.
If you have shorter hair I can make specially adapted Elflocks that clip in (although your hair still needs to be a couple of inches long!). You could also try our mini clip-in Elflocks to give a flash of faery glamour!

Care of Elflocks
Elflocks are made using 100% wool and so should be cared for as you would any other woollen item. Generally they need no more than an airing now and then. If they get wet please let them dry thoroughly before storing. If you do happen to get them dirty they can be gently handwashed in cool water using a detergent suitable for woollens. Do not rub too hard as this may cause the ‘locks to start felting together. Squeeze out as much water as possible by rolling in a clean towel and allow to dry thoroughly. When not being worn I find they are best stored hanging up – I store mine on a hanger in my wardrobe with a lavender bag to keep moths at bay.

Do you take commissions?
Yes, time permitting! Knitted items can be recreated in your choice of colour scheme, and Elflocks and headdresses may also be made to order, depending on what you need. Please contact me to discuss your requirements. If you wish to go ahead I will set up a listing on my shop and we can take it from there.

Payment
Our online shop is operated via Etsy, so payment must be sent through their checkout system. This uses PayPal, which we’ve found to be very user friendly, safe and swift. For commissions and special orders PayPal is preferred, but in some circumstances we may accept cheques, from UK customers only.

Postage
We have a tiered, flat rate charge to cover items sent within the UK, Europe and Rest of World. We’ll happily post anywhere but please be aware that delivery times can vary quite wildly from country to country. You may also be liable for any customs charges. If you’d like an insured, trackable service please let me know at the time of ordering and I will adjust the invoice accordingly. We aim to send in-stock items within 3 working days. Please allow 4 weeks for commissions – you will be advised at the time of ordering approximately how long it will take for me to make your item. Once an item is out of my hands I cannot be held responsible for lost or damaged parcels. I will however do everything within my power to help you make a claim for compensation with the postal service.

Returns
We want you to be 100% happy with your items. If for some reason you are not, please return the item within 7 working days, unused and in original packaging. A refund will be given once we have received the item, less any postage costs. Please note, insurance on returned packages is highly recommended. If a returned package is uninsured and lost or damaged, I am not responsible and cannot give a refund in this event.

One last thing:
I do have a cat, and while I obviously don’t let her roll around in my wool, there may be the odd cat hair which makes its way into my stash. Any one who is acutely allergic should be aware,  and err on the side of caution if necessary.

**Disclaimer**
It is only Woodland Wild who make Elflocks. If you see other sellers making dread falls/wigs and calling them ‘Elflocks’ please be aware they are not my product and the quality may differ from genuine Woodland Wild Elflocks.
